May 27, 2020 · Layover in Copenhagen. The four of us visited Copenhagen last summer during our tour of Scandinavia, so we were familiar with the city and its public transportation. We loved Nyhavn, Copenhagen’s iconic harbor, and decided this would be a good place to get some lunch (it was 1:30 pm local time, 7:30 am EST).
Flying from Amsterdam to Gothenburg, on either the 7th or 8th of Sept, had a 5 hr layover in Copenhagen and was concerned if I could catch anything in the city, the above is quite descriptive thanks, seems like I can see a bit of the city and still make it back to the airport on time.
From the airport there are: Trains to Central Station every 10 min - travel time 13 min - cost DKK 31.50 one-way per person. Metro to Kongens Nytorv every 5-6 min - travel time 13-14 min - cost DKK 31.50 one-way per person. Tivoli Gardens is just opposite Central Station. From Kongens Nytorv it's a short walk to Nyhavn.You could take a canal tour from there (takes about an hour).
